Remember When the Fun Was in the Figuring Out?

Tech used to be fun because you had to figure it out. You'd lose whole evenings to a broken config, a forum thread from 2009, or a weird bug that made no sense until suddenly it did. The answer was the reward, but the hours spent digging were the good part.

AI takes a lot of that away. Ask, get an answer, move on. It's faster, but some of the magic of discovering things yourself is gone.

What it gives back is range. LLMs open a door to things I'd never have had the time or knowledge to attempt. The fun isn't in figuring out how anymore, it's in figuring out what's possible.
